Everyone should know how to make at least one or two cocktails when entertaining small or large gatherings. Here's a few good ones to know.
Martini Cocktail
1/2-1 ounce dry vermouth
2 ounces dry gin
Shake well with ice and strain into martini glass. Add olive.
Gimlet Cocktail
1 ounces gin
2 ounces bottled lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
Stir extremely well with ice. Strain into pre-chilled glass. Sugar frost rim of glass.
Classic Champagne Cocktail
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 dash bitters
4 ounces iced champagne
Lemon peel
Stir sugar and bitters in pre-chilled champagne glass. Add champagne. Twist lemon peel over and drop into glass.
New York Cocktail
Juice of 1/2 lime or 1/2 lemon
1 lump sugar
2 dashes grenadine
A twist of orange peel
1 1/2 ounces whiskey
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.
Cinzano Cocktail
2 dashes bitters
2 dashes orange bitters
2 ounces dry Cinzano vermouth
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Squeeze orange peel on top.
Spencer Cocktail
1 dash bitters
1 dash orange juice
1 ounce apricot brandy
2 ounces dry gin
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Add cherry.
Napoleon Cocktail
1 dash Fernet Branca
1 dash Curacao
1 dash Dubonnet
2 ounces dry gin
Shake well and strain into tall glass.
Satan's Whiskers Cocktail
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce orange juice
1/4 ounce Grand Marnier
1 dash orange bitters
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.
